Alison McGregor is an ASD Consultant with experience in supporting individuals who have an autism diagnosis. Her background in Special Educational Needs and autism diagnostic support services inform her sensitive and personalised approach. She is passionate about individuals with an autism diagnosis achieving their aspirations. It is her belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel understood and have equal opportunities for success. Her conviction in this basic human right has driven her to accrue extensive knowledge and experience within her chosen field.

She has achieved a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a PGCE with Qualified Teaching Status, and a Masters Degree.  Aided by formal training in concepts such as PROACT-SCIPr-UK®, Attachment Theory and Intervention, and Elklan, she practices using a strong Person-Centred Approach.

She has completed Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults training (SOVA).

In addition to her formal qualifications she has advocated for individuals with autism for many years within schools, Special Educational Needs Services and charities. She has been privileged to work alongside people with an autism diagnosis, their parents/carers as well as those others that support them such as teachers, mental health professionals and occupational therapists.

As an independent ASD consultant, she provides one to one consultation as well as developing and delivering specialised training both to professionals and the wider community.  In doing so she enhances an individual’s knowledge of what a diagnosis of autism means for them.  She enables them to identify where their challenges lie and works collaboratively to develop strategies and systems to maximise their aspirations.
